It is my great pleasure to deliver this message for the annual publication of “NCASA Souvenir- Synergy 2016”. It is evident that Synergy has advanced in many aspects throughout its initiation which is nearly a decade. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the the editor- in- chief, The Editorial Board, volunteers and the entire NCASA team for their tremendous effort to make this edition of the magazine. I also would like to thank the article writers, advertising institutions and media for their immense help to make the edition successful. Here, I feel free to share the activities carried out by NCASA during the period from January 2016 to April 2016 and my tenure till the date of issue of the souvenir.

Students & Educational Activities
We have conducted Second CA Students National Convention 2016 “Spectrum of Opportunities” jointly with ICAN which was held on 18-19 March 2016. In total 292 students were participated in the conference. We have introduced a new educational program “Presentation Skill Development (PSD)”. First program of PSD was conducted at ICAN building, Satdobato, on 30th July 2016. In total, 35 students participated in the program. Technical Knowledge Enhancement program-TKE is conducting tri-monthly basis as per the timely requirement of students. NCASA has decided to provide NCASA scholarship for talented and financially weak students in different levels. This could help to meet some financial needs for the laborious students as I believe.

NCASA Demands
ICAN has decided to provide five minutes extra time to read question paper before the exam, which is one of the most awaited demand of NCASA. Finally, ICAN has agreed to open bank extension counter in ICAN premises. It is the demand which NCASA had been carrying since 2010. All the students, members and entire CA fraternity have been benefited with this bank counter. NCASA team has recently submitted the list of NCASA demands to ICAN. I would like to share some major points from the NCASA Demands. The report on NCASA demands includes, demand on increment of articleship stipend, article-ship training eligibility after Bachelor, IT training related is

sues, regarding reregistration of old CAP II students, recognition of foreign bodies, study material related matters, hall test issues, ICAN employee behaviour issues, monitoring CA coaching centre and Audit firms and much more.

Members, International Affairs

NCASA has demanded to stop providing recognition to the products of any foreign bodies without Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). ICAN has already done Membership Pathway Agreement (MPA) with CPA Australia and MRA with ICAEW. It is in the process for MRA with Canadian Board. However, it is providing membership to ICAI qualified without any Mutual Recognition Agreement with ICAI. NCASA has been preparing for CA Students’ International Conference for the first time in Nepal. Most probably it will be conducted on upcoming March if everything goes well. SAFA delegates will be invited for three-day event to present their concept papers on relevant international topics of the profession.

Association Development

After 13 years of its establishment, NCASA has got its physical appearance of office from this December at Satdobato, in front of ICAN building. Furthermore, NCASA has also formed its regional sub-committees in Pokhara and Biratnagar where hundreds of students are pursuing Chartered Accountancy course. NCASA has celebrated ’13th NCASA Day’ in 25th of Ashad 2072. Various awards, certificates, medals and life time achievement awards were distributed to the NCASA contributors. NCASA has formally decided to conduct “Hello NCASA” program to listen and solve students’ problems that may be related with NCASA, study materials, ICAN etc.

Extra Curricular Activities

We successfully organized Fifth NCASA Inter-firm T20 Cricket Tournament on the second week of Magh 2072. Altogether 15 firms were participated in seven day grand event. 15 volunteers were directly involved. NCASA quiz program was organized on 22nd of Ashad 2073. Nine teams were participated in the contest. Finally, I assure you to abreast of activities and important development within NCASA and CA students fraternity with subsequent issue of synergy.
